How to open Mac’s .pages file format on Microsoft Windows

Mac

Many iPad/iPhone/iPod users use Windows computers at home or work. You may want to open .pages extension files on your Windows PC for various reasons. This is a simple tip that explains how you can read .pages files:

  1. Save the file (.pages file) locally on your PC. Let’s say your file name is appletoolbox.pages.
  2. Change the name of the file by right clicking on the file.
  3. Delete the .pages extension and replace with .zip and your file’s name will be appletoolbox.zip.

Open the zip file and you can now see the content. You will see many files in the folder.  Inside the QuickLook folder, there will be a PDF file with the same name as the original pages file.

Note: The same method works for opening .pages files without iWork on Mac.
