Several users have reported an issue in which they are unable to sign in to Facebook on their iOS devices; iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. The issue is that they are receiving the following error message after they enter their password.
Error message: “Error Signing In. Could not communicate with the server.”
If you are having this issue, please see the following tips. Try each until you resolve your issue:
1.Make sure that your device is connected to the Internet. Launch Safari and check to see if you can view websites. If you are having connection problems you may try these basic troubleshooting tips:
- Tap Settings and toggle off and back on Wi-Fi
- Restart your device
- Restart your router
- Reset network settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note that this will erase all your network settings such as your Wi-Fi passwords etc.
Apple also has these troubleshooting tips, if you are having connection issues that were not resolved after you tried the above recomendations.
2.Make sure that your Facebook username and password is correct. Go to Safari and visit Facebook.com to see if you can sign in.
3.If you are sure that your Facebook credentials are correct, on your iOS device, tap Settings > Privacy > Facebook, then disable Facebook. Now try to login again. Once logged in, please go back and re-enable the privacy setting that you just disabled.
4.If you are still having problems, launch Safari (or any other web browser), go to Settings then Security and remove your iPad or iPhone from every setting in there. Then on your iOS device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy.
