Sign out of iMessage, FaceTime, and all apps and services connected to your Apple ID (App Store, iTunes, iCloud, Game Center, and so forth.) Then sign in back again–essentially reactivating your services and see if this solves the problem for you.

Comment on New Fix for iPad Wi-Fi Issues by SK Sat, 24 Jun 2017 15:57:51 +0000 Hi Ruth,

Try these additional tips–start with the first and work through the list if needed

1) Restart your device. If a normal restart does not help, hold down these buttons at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears: a) the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume down button (iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus) or b) the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button (all other models)
2) Reset Network Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Rejoin the Network again.
3) Reboot Router/Modem: Unplug from power for 2 minutes and plug again. Update Router Firmware (check manufacturer’s support website for a newer FW). Also, try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (20 MHz recommended for the 2.4 band). Channels 1, 6 or 11 are recommended for the 2.4 band.
4) Change to Google’s DNS: Settings > Wi-Fi > Click on the Network, Delete all numbers under DNS and enter or alternatively
5) Disable device prioritization on the router if this feature is available. Also, disable any VPN apps and test Wi-Fi again.
6) Determine if other WiFi devices on the network are working well (other iOS devices, Macs, PCs).
7) Try device at another Network, i.e., neighbors’, public coffee house, etc.
8) Backup and Restore the Device using iTunes. Try restoring as New first and testing it. If ok try restoring the backup (the backup could be corrupted).
9) Go to an Apple store for hardware evaluation. The WiFi chip or the antenna could be defective.

Comment on No FaceTime App on my iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch by SK Sat, 24 Jun 2017 15:08:18 +0000 Hi Robyn,

Are you still in the UK or elsewhere? If you do not see FaceTime as an app on your iPad mini, open the App Store and type in FaceTime in the search bar. It should come up. If so, download and install it.

If not, you need to run iOS10 or above to see the FaceTime app in the App Store. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and update to the latest iOS and then try the steps above again.

If you have the FaceTime app but it’s not working, please check the following post on using FaceTime.

Comment on How to fix iPhone stuck in headphones mode by Bill Sat, 24 Jun 2017 05:14:23 +0000 I tried everything I could find on the web, but nothing work. Then I saw your first advice about starting simple: change the ringtone.

It worked. Never occurred to me, because the phone was ringing for incoming call in headphone mode (as it’s supposed to). Then I changed it back to the previous ringtone and everything is fine.

Thank you!

Comment on Incoming iPhone calls go to voice mail without ringing by Rebecca Fri, 23 Jun 2017 21:29:15 +0000 🙁 I have tried all of the above and nothing works. The *73 is the closest, it works if I call my phone straight after dialling then reverts back to sending calls straight to voicemail. If I dial *73 then leave it, it again reverts back to going straight to voicemail 🙁 I am in the UK on Vodafone network and this has now happened to my husbands iphone 6 also on the Vodafone network. I am going into a store tomorrow but from reading online I think they will deny all knowledge of this being a fault on their network.

At this point I think this will be my first and last ever Iphone or contract with Vodafone!

Comment on Error Occurred Installing iOS 10.3, How-To Fix by Supersad Fri, 23 Jun 2017 20:24:46 +0000 I’m so disappointed with iPhone 5s (that I own) and I made the huge mistake downloading iOS 10.3.2 because my battery life is terrible now and my phone is barely 6 months old. Apple is highly overrated. And I hate it. And it is a waste of money. I’m so sadddd:'( i hate it. I hate apple. I need to get back to androids. Well, I suppose so now.

Comment on How to fix iPhone stuck in headphones mode by Jimmy Black Fri, 23 Jun 2017 19:31:49 +0000 For those of you who have tried all the above and nothing is working you might want to try this… I used IHeartRadio and it worked, I pulled up the app found a station plugged in my headphones and while it was playing I pulled them out. This will pause the station, just hit play and audio should now start coming out of your iphone. Now make a call and you should be good to go.

Comment on Q&A: Where are iMessage files stored on My Mac? by SK Fri, 23 Jun 2017 18:49:29 +0000 Hi Gary,

Sorry to hear of your Messages trouble. Are you backing up to your computer via iTunes? If not, try that first. Then check and see if you have this file: ~/Library/Containers/

Verify that your iPhone runs iOS8 or higher and your Mac runs Yosemite or above.

Make sure that the Apple ID is the same on both Mac and iPhone, that both Bluetooth and WiFi are on, and that Handoff is enabled on both devices:

On Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click General. Select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.”
On iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > General > Handoff, then turn on Handoff

Hope this helps,

Comment on Where is Game Center app? Now using iMessage, iCloud by SK Fri, 23 Jun 2017 18:33:38 +0000 Hi Dan,

Try these steps to delete the unused Apple ID account:

    Launch iTunes > Store
    Click View My Apple ID
Enter password and see the option
    Now Deauthorize all computers
    Confirm the de-authorization
In the Manage Devices window, click “Remove” for every device
Disable Auto Renew. If you’ve set up an iTunes Match subscription with your Apple ID, be sure to turn that off. Click the “Turn Off Auto-Renew” button

Remove Apple ID from iOS device follow these steps

Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores
Tap the Apple ID button at the top of the screen
    Tap Sign Out
Now on both devices, you can log in with new Apple ID

Update Game Center

GO to Settings > Game Center
    Toggle Game Center OFF
Toggle Game Center ON and choose the Apple ID you want to use with Game Center
Remember that you can only link 1 Apple ID with Game Center for each device

To completely delete the unused Apple ID from Apple’s side, you need to call Apple Support. Check out this article for the details.

Comment on How to fix your disabled Apple ID? by SK Fri, 23 Jun 2017 18:25:14 +0000 Hi Audrey,

This is a common problem, so you are definitely not alone! Since you tried multiple unsuccessful attempts, your Apple ID is locked for 24 hours. Try to login again tomorrow, after 24 hours pass.

Alternatively, try going to to unlock your account with your existing password. You can also reset your password there. This may or may not work, depending on how many unsuccessful attempts.

Good luck,
