Some recipients of the iPad 3G (which arrived to early orderers today) report an issue in which newly established AT&T data plans display the message “There is no data remaining on your current plan. Would you like to add more data now? If you don’t add now, you can do it later in Settings” despite the presence of unused MB or unlimited plans. These users also report that their bank accounts have been charged for the 3G access plans.
Apple Discussions poster Jake83 writes:
“I’m having the same issue. I have the unlimited data plan, but it keeps telling me that I have no data remaining. I’ve contacted AT&T, but they haven’t been able to resolve it yet. After about 30 minutes on the phone with me they said they would call me back once they’ve resolved my issue. That was an hour and a half ago…”
- Restart iPad. Hold down the sleep/wake button until the power off slider appears. Turn the device off then back on.
- Remove micro-SIM and reinsert it. As described on page 25 of the iPad 3G user manual.
- Re-enter billing information. Go to settings, then select your AT&T account information. Delete the information, then re-enter your billing address, credit card number, security code and associated information and submit it.
