How to test your Mobile connection speed using the Speedtest.net Mobile App

Using a 3G connection for surfing the web, downloading small apps, or checking email is very convenient, but in some places it is as slow as molasses on a hot day. So when you need to check how fast (or slow) your connection really is…the Speedtest Mobile App is for you!

Speedtest.net is a well-known name in broadband speed testing website used computers, and is one of the best. They process is very simple on their website and they moved the simplicity to their mobile app for sure!

Actually testing your 3G speed is completely fool-proof:

  1. You open the app.
  2. It’ll ask you for your location. This is so the app can locate the closest server to you, allowing it to get the best speed results for you! It’ll take a few seconds to find a sever near you.
  3. After that, you will start the test, which consists of 3 parts: Ping, download, and upload. The test usually takes less than 30 seconds if you’re in an ideal area (somewhere where you have at least a bar of 3G).
  4. Once the test is complete, the app will give you the results. That’s it! The app stores all your results from wherever you are and are available to view whenever. And you can export the results in a csv file and email them!

Hopefully, this app will help you discover just how fast your connection is and how good your coverage is; it certainly has for me!
