Several users have reported that their iPhone (or iPad, iPod Touch) shuts off by itself and they are unable to turn on and/or charge their device. Here are some tips to resolve this issue. Please try each step until the issue is resolved:
- Check that your battery is not completely drained. Charge your device for about 15 minutes before your device turns on.
- Connect your device to a power outlet and try restarting your device by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo.
- Connect your device to a power outlet and reset your device by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the white Apple logo appears.
- If nothing listed above works, restore your device by connecting your iPhone to a computer and open iTunes.
