A fix for Gmail password error

By SK 2 comments Last updated November 17, 2011

Several users have reported getting an error message, that says “The user name or password for Gmail is incorrect,” when trying to access Gmail on an iPad, iPhone, iPod or iMac.

The problem arose because Gmail uses different techniques to try to stop spammers. Setting up an account on a mobile device can trigger it to be locked. To unlock the account, you must visit the following link and prove you are human.

All of a sudden I seem not to need a password any more, dialling up gmail puts me straight into giving access to all mail. I need a password system to shut my gmail off as computer sometimes used by others. How do I re-fix it??

This is great, worked for me! Other sites had all sorts of silly explanations of why this username/password error was occurring. Thanks!
