I have airprint AND Google cloud print (by virtue of using Gmail App) on my phone. 9 times out of ten, cloud print works perfectly. 9 times out of ten airprint fails. I can get airprint to work if I turn my printer off and then on. It will then work for the next few minutes and then doesn’t work at all.
I tried this: Printed from an email inside the Gmail app. Immediately following that I printed from Safari a page to airprint. The cloud print worked perfectly, the airprint failed. All within two minutes. So tell me this isn’t an Apple problem. The printer works, the wifi address is correct and the network is functioning correctly.
I’d really like to print from my Apple devices as cleanly and consistently as I print from my Google App and my Windows devices. I need some help here. The phone automatically updates whenever Apple says as do my Windows devices.
So the tips on this forum do work. But which one should I use? Why do I need to do one of the actions EVERY time I want to print from iPhone or iPad? It’s nuts. Sometimes the printer does go off network but there is an LED that blinks when this happens. Sometimes my computer is off network but I can easily see when this happens (yes my desktop computer is configured wireless/networked).
