We purchased a refurbished IPad 2, 16GB about 3 weeks ago. We haven’t noticed issues until within the past few days.
Our daughter attempts to access Amazon videos and we get the message , “PLAYBACK ERROR Your device’s Internet connection is currently using an HTTP proxy which prevents playing your video. From your devices homescreen tap Settings and select ‘Wi-Fi’. View details for your Wi-Fi network and set ‘HTTP Proxy’ to ‘Off'”
This is also the ‘solution’ we found searching the internet. The problem is that, when we go to Settings/Wi-Fi and view network details, we do not have the bar that offers the Proxy options bar that should be under “Renew Lease” and offers the options, Off, Manual, Auto.
We’ve done the basic recommended fixes, ie turned the system on/off, turned wifi on/off, Renewed Lease, joined the network manually. IOS version is 7.1.1. We’re attempting to upgrade to 9.0.2 but get the “Software Update Unavailable” message.
Where do we turn next? Any suggestions is appreciated.
