After upgrading my iPhone to 11.0.3, messages that I send get randomly cut in half AFTER sending them, so the recipient sees the message for a split second, then it is truncated.

The volume on the phone stays turned up even when you have it turned down. I have it turned down and when a text message comes throught it comes through on the highest tone its got. So got me trouble on the job.

After I updated for 11.0.3, the recall function when I start typing in someone’s name has changed. It used to recall the last number texted. Now it doesn’t. In fact, it recalled twive numbers that no longer existed for a contact even though that number no longer exists in his/her contact info. The contact’s name would pop up, so I thought that I was sending it to the right person and number. But AFTER i sent the text message, only a phone number showed up in the text message screen (meaning that no number was associated with the person in my contacts). I sent 2 text messages to unknown number because of this recall problem.
Also now every group text message, I have ever sent shows up when I type in a name of someone who was in that group text. In order to find a person’s number, I have to scroll down and find his number. This is a big pain in the a** and also a big time waster.
How do I disable the text message name recall function?

Your description fits my problem exactly. How do we get rid of this annoying search/auto fill feature? I just want the messages search to look in my contacts and nothing else. Why do the techs change these things without thinking it through? Or make it an option rather than a default?

Messages are often simply not coming through but I don’t know it. The only way to find out if I have messages is to re-set the network settings. I couldn’t send pictures in the first and second release. Now I can send pictures. I think I preferred not being able to send pictures.

After downloading 11.0.3, I am unable to write an email from my phone, can only look at them. I downloaded earlier this week and today, Saturday, this has started.

I updated my iPhone 5S last week to i.o.s. 11.0.3, now I am unable to send pictures through text messages.
Apps don’t open properly and if they do, they do not operate smoothly.

The letter “I” is registering as strange symbols on other iPhones and iMessage on the computer (“I️”) or a capital A with a question mark in a box and/or the letter A with six horizontal lines…just started yesterday, updated last week!

Message and address book confused. (919)555-1212 not recognized as the same as 9195551212. Or, 1 prefixed number in address book – older contacts, not recognized as the same as the number without a 1. 9195551212 not recognized as the same number as 919-555-1212. Older versions didn’t have this problem. Display in messaging drops the name and you have to read the messages to figure out who it is and then add the “new” number to the existing contact. What a pain. Bad code replaced good code.

I’m not receiving any of my voice mails. People are leaving them, they just never show up, I do get a notice of a missed call, but nothing about a message being left. Like a previous post, when I go to the voicemail icon, I’m told to Call Voicemail. My user name and password come back as being invalid. This started several days after the last update was loaded.

After 11.0.3 upgrade text messages:
1. Can’t sort them by most recent, so I have to scroll through to find an incoming text. It seems like they’re randomly sorted.
2. Can’t write a new text, only from an old text or from contacts.
3. After I read a text it appears as new.
4. Can’t sync with my Garmin Vivosmart HR+ app – bluetooth isn’t communicating.
4. I’m sure there’s something else wrong, it just hasn’t happened yet.

After 11.0.3 update…
One day I had poor signal while using iMessage to text a friend back and forth. All messages finally went through, but now I always see “Sending…” with a progress bar that never grows (for that contact only.) So, I always think there still a message trying to send. 🙁

Jodi Bruss Sherman
My entire family has the same problem as Georgia Cross & Randall Sakamoto. I get everything BUT the single individual person I want to text. How do we get just the one person from our contacts we want to text? I just want the messages search to look in my contacts and nothing else. Whatever change was made, it’s now extremely time-consuming to text someone. Why on earth would auto-search pop up all these groups, and really old ones, as the first thing in the search?

Has any one received any sort of reply? Or at least an acknowledgement that these are problems with the last update? The latest information put out about this last release is that the i and A problem will be fixed in an upcoming fix. From this long list of comments, it would seem that there are many problems that need to be addressed.

My wife is having the same issue as Jerry Gillespie: ‘long-ish’ messages are sent but are then cut down to only a few words…has anyone heard of any fixes for this?

I am having problems writing messages since the update. I start typing a message in the text box and then the keypad below moves up and covers the text box so I can not see what I am typing or even press the camera or send button. I have to exit the message to go back to the main list of my messages and go back in to the message which displays what I have typed, just so I can see it and or send it. It is becoming increasingly frustrating as I can not see when there are typos or even send the message when I have finished it without having to constantly go in and out of the message.
