GuestThe message “Safari Quit Unexpectedly” appears whenever I try to open Safari. If I click on show Details I get a whole screed of stuff I don’t understand, and am told that the report will be sent to Apple. So far Apple haven’t responded and I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Should I uninstall and re-install (and lose all my bookmarks etc) or is there another fix?

GuestSome questions
Did you open any suspect mail from “Apple” as there is some Mal ware masquerading as from apple
If so download an anti virus software and scan etcSecond try opening safari without the various tabs you had open at the time – suspect one of those is interfering with your situation
Post how you are doing

GuestI have the same problem as Janet. Whenever I try opening Safari it just displays error messages and “sends” reports to Apple.
I have not received any fraudulent emails and I am a pretty careful internet user. Regardless, I downloaded an anti-virus package which proclaimed my MacBook Air clean after the package scanned it.
Do you have any other tips as to how I can solve this problem?

GuestI had the same problem and could solve it with removing spyware “genieo”.
Please find more information here: http://www.wikihow.com/Delete-Genieo

Guestsafari’s stopped working – only proceeds 20% to any URL. Have forced quit, relaunched, removed all tabs, cleared cache, restarted macbook, reloaded pages, reconfirmed Internet connectivity. I don’t want to relaunch the OS, there are no indications of the malware listed above. Any ideas? I’m sure I’m not the only person having this issue. Thank you.
