Apple has been rumored to have been working on development of the AirPods 3 for at least the last year or so. But it wasn’t until back in March when we started to see our first leaked images and renders. For the most part, those leaked images and renders appear to be correct, as the AirPods 3 have finally be introduced.

What’s New With AirPods 3
Following the continued popularity and growth of the AirPods in the headphone segment, Apple determined it was time to update the standard AirPods. The AirPods 3 adopt a similar design to the AirPods Pro, with the biggest difference being the lack of included ear-tips. Instead, Apple wants you to treat these just like your old AirPods, by just throwing them in your ear and moving along.
After being introduced earlier this year, Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos come to the “normal” AirPods. Between the design, beam forming microphones, and the H1 chip, you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite music and movies in ways you never thought possible.
The AirPods 3 are also IPX4-certified, meaning that they are both sweat and water resistant. And this certification extends to the included charging case. Speaking of which, Apple has introduced the first MagSafe-compatible AirPods charging case, and it’s included with every purchase. AirPods Pro owners will also be upgraded to the new charging case if you purchase the earbuds new.
Battery life is rated for up to six hours on a single charge, while the included charging case bumps that number up to 30 hours. This is an hour longer than the AirPods 2 for the earbuds, and six hours longer when including the charging case.
How To Buy AirPods 3
If you want to learn how to buy AirPods 3 for yourself, pricing comes in at just $179. This places it below the $249 AirPods Pro, and above the $129 AirPods 2 which remain in Apple’s current AirPods lineup.
Currently, the AirPods 3 are only available directly from Apple, but you can order them today. If you don’t want to buy them today, Apple is releasing them across the globe beginning on Tuesday, October 26th.
