NASA’s app will now be available on your Apple TV. The app is one of the most popular apps out there. It has been downloaded 17 million times on the iOS and Android platforms.
The App contains a large number of fascinating features for space enthusiasts. Features include satellite-tracking maps, more than 15,000 images that can be displayed on a slide show format, provides information about upcoming missions and live high definition NASA TV.
Prior to this week the app was not available in the tvOS store and it was bit inconvenient for users that wanted to stream it to their AppleTV. One had to use Airplay to achieve this via their iPad. Starting yesterday, the app is available right on your tvOS app store and you can directly use it on your Apple TV. The app is still not available in Roku and Chromecast streaming services.
NASA unveiled the High-Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment in April 2014. It uses several HD cameras pointed at Earth, which are housed in a pressurized case on the International Space Station’s European branch. The HDEV stream is paired with an ISS tracker that can tell viewers where the station is positioned.
Give it a test run on your Apple TV
