Over the past year, a lot of people signed up for Disney+ around the world, taking advantage of the free trial period and then subsequently signing up for a paid subscription. While many people see a lot of value out of their Disney+ subscription, you may need to take a break from the cost or already watched what you wanted. If that sounds like you and you’re ready to cancel, let’s learn just how to do that.
How do I cancel my subscription to Disney+?
Since you can purchase a subscription to Disney+ using a variety of ways, from signing up directly with Disney to purchasing via Apple’s App Store or Roku and Amazon’s App Stores, it’s important to first identify HOW you purchased your subscription.
For example, if you subscribed to Disney+ using your Apple ID and the App Store app or on your Android mobile device using the Google Play Store App, you can only cancel your Disney+ subscription using your account on those devices.
Review your email and look for a confirmation of your subscription for Disney+–that email should indicate just how you ordered it and subscribed to in the first place.
1) Disney+ does not prorate cancellation
Disney+ does not prorate any subscription refunds, so your subscription officially ends when the current billing cycle ends. Â You continue to have access until that next billing date.
2) Cancel with at least 24 hours before you next billing date
It’s also a good practice to cancel your Disney+ subscription no less than 24 hours BEFORE the next bill due date.
Allowing that full day of notice gives the system time to respond to your cancellation request. And it ensures that Disney does not charge you for another month (a year or whatever your subscription term is.)
3) Canceling your Disney+ subscription may not cancel your account
Depending on how you signed up for Disney+ when you cancel your subscription, your account details remain on-file so you can resubscribe and reactivate your subscription at a later time.

I want to cancel my Roku Disney account and subscription. I don’t know how to go about that. I do not have the Roku TV anymore.
Please, let me know. Please, send me a phone number to talk to somebody and do the cancellation.
Peter Omoregie.
Wow Liz Jones, thank you, I’ve been trying for months to get rid of that $6.99 dink. I think I’ve finally done it through the Roku website.
If I continue getting charged I’ll talk to my bank about it. They are pretty good about this sort of thing.
Now I just have to remember never to click on it in my Roku menu.
Never again Disney!!!
Getting rid of Disney plus needs an act from God. I go to Roku and it tells me to cancel at Disney plus site. I go to D+ site and it tells me to cancel with Roku. If Disney knew their product was not that great maybe they should have made it better than make it impossible to cancel account.
Have been trying to cancel my subscription for Disney Roku for a month and thought I hAd succeeded but just saw charges again recently. I need to go through a different process to discontinue these charges. Please give other information on where and how because I have not found one that works and it’s ridiculous!
Good information; terrible cycle to get rid of an unsubscribed (Disney+) channel. I canceled on Roku, but couldn’t remove it from the menu as I could others, so easily. Never used it thereafter until a relative (w/kids) saw it on the Roku menu, and darn if one click got me re-subscribed again. THIS IS WRONG. Once you’re done with a channel and unsubscribe, it’s imperative that you be allowed to render it non-accessible via Roku, too.
Great article, tho. Wish I’d seen it when I first had this issue.
I continue to be charged monthly after I have cancelled Disney+ several months ago. Would LOVE for someone to contact me about a refund and A permanent cancellation. It would be nice to have an actual number or person to talk too. No help on these sites !!!
We need help in discontinuing the Disney app from our television. Having no luck. Please help.
