Bluetooth settings not working, greyed out, fix

By SK 6 comments Last updated January 2, 2023

In some instances you may be unable to turn Bluetooth on or off because the Bluetooth setting is greyed out or dim, thus not working. If you experience this issue, please try the following tips to resolve it:

  • Make sure that Airplane Mode is off (settings and toggle on Airplane Mode).
  • Restart your device by pressing and holding the on/off button until you see the red slider and then slide the slider.
  • Update your iOS version. (How to update your iOS version: iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch)
  • Reset Network Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings).

I’ve searched around the Apple recommendations and followed protocols however these haven’t fixed anything. My iPhone 6+ is updated to iOS 12.5.2
Bluetooth is greyed out and WiFi hasn’t been on in weeks and Is costing me more money in data.
It’s not affordable. I’ve probably bought a dozen iPhones since they came out for myself and my family as well as 2 iPods and 3 iPads plus much more from Apple. As a continuous customer I ask your ceo or supervisor : are you willing to lose a valuable customer over this or are you going to make it right with me? I am frustrated. Please help.
    Thank you for your efforts.

I have done all of the above-mentioned. I still can’t get the bluetooth icon to show as black.

I’ve been a loyal Apple customer for many years. Since this new iOS 8 and all the problems that iPhone has been having in general I am no longer supporting Apple in anything. I refuse to buy another piece of crap from them. A better option than fixing your iPhone, go buy an android
