If you’re in the Apple ecosystem with some or all of your devices, you’ll agree that the ability to share Wi-Fi passwords from an iPhone to any other Apple product is a major convenience. Sadly, as is often the case, when you step outside that bubble, things become more difficult.
Today’s case-in-point: how to share Wi-Fi from iPhone to pc.
Fear not, we’re going to show you how to ensure that you can still share a password with your desktop or laptop PC even if it doesn’t have an Apple logo on it.
If you can no longer rely on the convenience of Apple Intelligence to seamlessly send a Wi-Fi password for you because you’re using a PC, you’ll need to get creative. Unfortunately, there’s only one major way to share passwords between the two different types of devices.
Manually
The simplest (though not necessarily most convenient) way to share a password from an iPhone to a PC is manually. You can copy the network’s password to your clipboard, type it in while looking at your phone, or even write it down on paper in a pinch. For all this to work, you need to know where to locate the Wi-Fi password. Here’s how to locate it:
Step 1. Go to Settings on your iPhone and navigate to “Wi-Fi.”
Step 2. In the Wi-Fi window, click the network you are currently connected to.

Step 3. Tap the “Password” bar. You may be required to enter biometric data (Face ID or fingerprint) for security purposes.

Step 4. The password will then be visible, and you can type this into your PC under the same network.
For a stored password from a network that isn’t currently being used:
Step 1. Open “Wi-Fi” in Settings.
Step 2. Click “Edit” at the top-right of the screen. You may be asked to enter biometric data.
Step 3. Navigate through your stored networks and tap the “I” icon of your desired option.

Step 4. Tap the “Password” bar, and the details should become visible.

iCloud (Limited)
Even though iCloud is adept at storing passwords and login data across devices and across the ecosystem, there’s a big drop in abilities when trying to connect with a Windows computer. One such casualty is the loss of stored Wi-Fi networks and shareability. Despite many claims to the contrary, it’s important to know that an iCloud extension, app, or browser window can’t seamlessly share your iPhone’s Wi-Fi details.
With that said, if you do want to copy and paste the password between devices, you can do so with the help of iCloud and Notes. Here’s what to do:
Step 1. Log in to your iCloud account on your PC, either via the extension, app, or browser window.
Step 2. On your iPhone, press and hold the Wi-Fi password to copy it to the clipboard.
Step 3. Open Notes, create a new note, and paste the password in.
Step 4. Back on your PC, scroll down to the Apple apps in iCloud and choose Notes.

Step 5. Copy the password from the synced note and place it into your password slot.

As an avid gamer, I’ve run into my fair share of error codes and weird faults that have forced me to find fixes to problems I never anticipated. That gave me a passion for sharing those fixes with others so we can all game without feeling like our hardware is rebelling against us.
