Method 1: Check Your Outlook Calendar Settings on Your iPhone

Step 1: If your Outlook account isn’t set up correctly on your iPhone, your calendar sync won’t work. Head to Settings on your iPhone.

Top tip: If there’s a message at the top of the screen saying “Account not authenticated,” re-enter your Outlook password in the box below.

Step 4: To test if the fix worked, add an event in your iPhone calendar, ensuring you choose Outlook as the Calendar option if you use multiple calendars.

Step 5: Wait 5-10 minutes then check your Outlook calendar. The event should appear on the same date/time slot. If not, try one of the following fixes.

Method 2: Check You Have a Working Internet Connection

Step 1: If the internet is intermittent or disconnected on your iPhone, events won’t sync. Swipe down from the top left to open the Control Center.

Step 2: Check that Mobile Data is on (this should be green) as well as Wi-Fi (this should be blue). If these are working, you should see the Wi-Fi symbol and some cellular signal bars in the top left of the screen.

Step 4: Check that the internet is working on your other device, e.g. PC or tablet, by performing an internet search using any browser. If the internet is working, add a test event (Steps 4 and 5 in Method 1) and see if the calendar sync is working.

Step 3: Perform a test using Steps 4 and 5 from Method 1.

Method 4: Update Your iOS Software

Step 1: Sometimes software updates address bugs causing sync issues. Check for an update by first heading to Settings, then General.

Step 2: Click Software Update which is the second option from the top.

Step 3: The iPhone will check for an update and tell you if one is required. If needed, follow the prompts to install the update.

Tip: This can take more than ten minutes. If you urgently need to use your phone, do this later when you have more free time.

Step 4: Once the software has been updated, create a test appointment to see if the fix has worked.
