How to Set Wallpaper on Mac From Google or Downloads Folder

Quick Tips
  • To set a picture as wallpaper from Google, download it on your Macbook first.
  • Then, you can set it as a wallpaper from the Settings, Photos, or Finder app.
  • Go to MacBook Settings > Wallpaper > Add Photo > Choose and select the picture in the Downloads folder.

Set Wallpaper on Mac From Google

  1. First, you must save the picture on your Mac.
  • On Safari: Right-click or control-click on the picture and select Save Image to Downloads.
  • On Chrome: Right-click on the picture and select Save Image as. Select the Downloads folder.

  1. Once the picture is downloaded, go to MacBook Settings > Wallpaper. Click on Add Photo > Choose.

  1. Select the Downloads folder from the side panel and choose the image you downloaded. The selected picture will be set as your MacBook’s wallpaper.

In addition to the above method, you can directly set a picture as wallpaper from the Downloads folder. Open the Finder app on your MacBook > go to the Downloads folder from the left panel > right-click on the thumbnail of the picture > select Set Desktop picture.

    I moved my photos to the Pictures folder rather than leave them in the Downloads folder.
