We’re coming up on the one-year anniversary of the iPhone 12’s release, and that means that it’s almost been one year since the phrase “MagSafe” was reintroduced into our vocabulary. But it’s also taken this long for accessory makers (including Apple) to provide us with the best MagSafe battery pack. Apple’s own solution was released just over a month ago, but we’ve also seen other options become more readily available.

These MagSafe battery packs are pretty incredible in the fact that you can finally ditch the cables when you want to charge your iPhone 12 on the go. However, some companies (i.e. Mophie) have made a solution that will actually work with pretty much any smartphone that includes wireless charging.
Finding the best MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone 12
There are a few different factors that you’ll want to take into account before just grabbing one of the best MagSafe battery pack on this list. From capacity to the re-charging method and whether it has a power button are just a few. Some of these options work much better than others, but all of these are the best MagSafe battery packs for the iPhone 12 family of devices. So let’s dive in!
Anker PowerCore 5K Wireless
- Features:
- Capacity:Â 5,000mAh/ 18.5Wh
- Charging Port: USB-C
- Power button: Yes
- Price: $54.99
This is definitely an objective pick, but my favorite battery pack out of the bunch is the Anker PowerCore 5K Wireless. Yes, it’s a bit more bulky than Mophie and Apple’s option, but as someone who has used and continues to rely on Anker charging accessories, this is has simply become one of the most important things to throw in my bag.
The PowerCore 5K Wireless has enough juice to handle my iPhone 12 Pro Max (and then some), while also coming in five different colors. There are a series of battery LED indicators at the end, letting you know how much juice is left in the tank. And pressing the power button will kickstart your iPhone 12, giving you control over when the charging actually starts occurring.
Apple MagSafe Battery Pack
- Features:
- Capacity:Â 1,460mAh/ 11.13Wh
- Charging Port: Lightning
- Power button:Â No
- Price: $99
Apple did a few things right with its own MagSafe Battery Pack. You get the integration with the operating system as you would expect, as the Battery Pack immediately appears in the Batteries widget after you snap it on for the first time. It has a little LED indicator at the bottom to try and let you know when it’s working, and for iPhone 12 models other than the 12 Pro Max, it will likely get you near 100% on a single charge.
But I’m just a bit disappointed in the execution as Apple really should have released a larger capacity version for Pro Max owners. We also would have liked to see some other colors besides the classic White silicone finish with the Gray iPhone logo. Those who love pairing their iPhones with Apple accessories will likely snap these up immediately.
Mophie Snap+ Juice Pack Mini
- Features:
- Capacity: 5,000mAh/ 18.5Wh
- Charging Port: USB-C
- Power button: Yes
- Price: $49.95
Truth be told, this is my favorite out of the MagSafe Battery packs that I’ve gotten my hands on so far. But it’s not because it has some special integration with the iPhone or anything like that. Instead, it’s because of the ability to use this with other smartphones with the included “Snap Adapter”. Just use the included guide to stick the adapter to any of your non-MagSafe smartphones and then they instantly become compatible with MagSafe accessories.
The charging speeds aren’t going to be as fast as you might find on other options when pairing the Juice Pack with a non-iPhone 12 model. However, the versatility of being able to use something like my Galaxy Z Fold 2 with Belkin’s excellent MagSafe car mount is just something that I didn’t realize I needed until now.
Baseus MagSafe Power Bank
- Features:
- Capacity: 10,000mAh/ 18.5Wh
- Charging Port: USB-C / USB-A
- Power button: Yes
- Price: $39.99
This MagSafe Power Bank from Baseus is one of the latest options to hit the interwebs, and it’s one that I’m waiting to get my hands on. There are a couple of appealing reasons as to why you would want to consider this power bank, other than being compatible with MagSafe. First of which is the sleek design offered, with the LCD display providing a precise reading on how much juice is left in the battery bank. Next up, Baseus sacrificed the size and portability a bit, but it was for good reason. This power bank features a 10,000mAh capacity, which means that you’ll be able to charge up your iPhone 12 almost 2.5 times before it rungs out.
And if you want to use this as a regular power bank, you can do that too. On the end of the charger, you’ll find both a USB-C and USB-A port that can be used to either recharge this, or charge something else altogether. Baseus is also the recipient of the Reddot Design Award 2021 for this power bank, giving you even more of a reason to try it out.
