For one reason or another, Apple hasn’t made it exactly easy to manage or “deal” with the list of Wi-Fi networks that we connect to on our iPhone. We’ve seen some implementations that make it easy to share Wi-Fi passwords with other iPhone, iPad, or Mac users, but not with anyone else. In fact, until iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, you couldn’t even view the passwords for networks you’ve already connected to. But that’s all changing.

How To View Wi-Fi Passwords and Delete Networks on iPhone in iOS 16
There is a lot of bigger fish to fry when it comes to iOS 16 features and changes. But there’s a new feature available for those on iOS 16 that finally makes it possible to view Wi-Fi passwords and delete networks on iPhone. It’s something that we’ve been wanting for as long as iOS and the iPhone have been around, as there used to be various jailbreak tweaks that provided this. Thankfully, this is no longer an issue with iOS 16.
View Wi-Fi Passwords
If you ever find yourself wanting to know, or need to view Wi-Fi passwords, here’s how you can do so:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone running iOS 16.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Next to the Wi-Fi connection in question, tap the ‘i’ icon.
- Below Auto-Join, tap Password.
- Authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode.
Once authenticated, the password will be presented in plain text. From here, you can either verbally tell someone else what the password is, or you can copy it. In order to copy it, just tap the Password field again until you see the Copy box appear. Tap the Copy prompt, and then paste the password into whatever app you need to.
Delete Wi-Fi Connections
Unlike viewing Wi-Fi passwords, the ability to delete Wi-Fi connections has been available on iPhone and iPad. With the release of iOS 16, Apple is making this process a bit easier, and here’s how you can delete connections you no longer need:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone running iOS 16.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- In the top right corner, tap the Edit button.
- Authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode.
- Locate the Wi-Fi network that you wish to remove.
- Tap the – icon next to the network.
- Tap the Delete button that appears on the right side.
- When finished, tap the Done button in the top right corner.
There’s a bit more to deleting Wi-Fi connections, as you might notice when going through the process. After you’ve unlocked the list of connected Wi-Fi networks, you’re actually presented with the entire list of previously-connected networks. If you have a lot of saved networks, this list can be pretty exhaustive, so you’ll want to make sure that you know the name of the network you wish to remove.
