Several users have reported that Emoji stops working properly. They reported that messages with Emoji either will not be delivered to the recipient or shows some strange icons.
If you are having this problem, there are two things that you should be aware of:
- iOS devices with iOS 5 or later are capable of sending Emoji; it just needs to be enabled: Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Add New Keyboard > Emoji.
- Emoji may appear as strange or gibberish if you send Emoji message to a device that does not support Emoji such as older iOS devices or Android phones etc. However, if you enable Emoji on your iOS device and send a message to an iOS device that Emoji is not enabled, Emoji will still appear on iOS devices with iOS 5 or later, even if they are not enabled.
